Simple. Firm beds are better because they are more durable. And since comfort level is a personal choice, we've designed at least four mattresses to choose from that have the 2/95 foam inside. 2/95 stands for 2 lb/95 compression foam. So, if you choose one of our mattresses with 2/95 in it, you will get the longest lasting, most durable, least body impressions showing, indestructible, two-sided mattress you will ever purchase.

Sounding a little cheesy and over the top? Probably, but 100% factual. Except for the indestructible comment. That's an exaggeration.

That's a good question.  No.  Not all mattresses are two-sided.  In fact, they are getting more and more difficult to find.

Forever mattresses were always made padded on two-sides. In 2003, manufacturers started making high and high end pillow top mattresses padded on just one side. The industry decided to call this type of mattress a no flip mattress.   Actually, it should have been named can't flip because you can't. It's not upholstered on the other side so you can only sleep on one side of the mattress.  Oh, and get this - they still suggest that you turn or rotate the no flip mattress from head to foot.  What a joke, because the main reason the no flip mattress was created in the first place was for it's  -- new selling feature -- it doesn't have to be turned or rotated.  The consumer is only getting 50% of a mattress, or only half a mattress... And, the price for a no flip mattress is cheaper, right?  No, it will cost about the same as our two-sided mattress.  And our two-sided mattresses last at least twice as long.  

Remember, buy a two-sided mattress, even if you don't buy it from us.

The truth? The cost, money, your hard earned cash. Since no flip mattresses don't last as long as two-sided mattresses, the consumer is sent back to the mattress store to replace their mattress sooner.  

We highly recommend staying away from no flip mattresses.  They just don't last.  Remember, buy a two-sided mattress, even if you don't buy it from us.

The mattress industry has seen many increases in foam prices over the years.  The final catalyst? Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The plants that supply much of the materials needed to make foam are located in the Gulf of Mexico. When the region was slammed by Katrina factories were damaged and the price of foam increased 35% overnight. As a result, the cost to produce a coil mattress increased some 10 to 25%. Interestingly, manufacturers told us that we could avoid an increase in manufacturing costs if we ordered one-sided, no flip mattresses from them. We decided not to, but the story of the no flip mattress was born.   So, for an average of 15% more, we can give you a two-sided  mattress (100%).  Or, we can give you 50% to save 15%.  You do the math.  We know no flip (one-sided) mattresses are a consumer rip off. What do you think?

It depends on how much you spend and whether or not you bought a two-sided mattress or a no flip mattress. In general, a decent two-sided mattress should last around 10 to 12 years. In comparison, a no flip mattress will usually be in need of replacement within 4 years.  That's right - within 4 years.

At Mr. Mattress our return policy is no return policy.  We don't offer a "comfort guarantee".  This might sound a little extreme, but our reasons are solid.  Health and sanitation.  Especially now with the big resurgence of -- bed bug infestations.  We do not want to get bed bugs and we certainly don't want to give them.  You can rest easy at Mr. Mattress.  You will always get a brand new mattress that has never been slept on before.  Ever.  Your new mattress will always be two-sided (padded on both sides) and it will always be made locally right here in the Lower Mainland, just for you.

Sure, you can try adding a mattress topper.  We carry mattress toppers.

We suggest recycling it. If the mattress is no good for you, it's definitely no good for your child's bedroom, or a second bedroom, unless you really don't want your guest to be with you long.  We can assist you with recycling it if you like, but we will ask if you've had bed bugs up front, so be honest. We will charge a small fee to recycle your old mattress. Give us a call for details. This service is available to our customers with the purchase of a new mattress.

First, we will always recommend buy a two-sided, flippable mattress. Second, you can rotate your mattress from head to foot and flip it over. Also, if you sleep with a partner, try to change up your sleeping positions every once in a while. What we mean here is sleep closer together so that the center section of your mattress doesn't develop a bump.

Essentially, you want to promote more even surface wear. This will help minimize body impressions. But remember this. No matter who makes the mattress, or however high-end it is, all mattresses develop body impressions over time.
